Another Wondabunga collage!

Wonder Woman, Etta Candy, Col. Steve, Dr. Minerva and Siegfried? These are the characters that have turned a creative run - writers Michael W. Conrad, Becky Cloonan and Jordie Bellaire, with artist Travis Moore - on WONDER WOMAN, into an ERA. By now, everybody here and in SPACE knows I'm in LOVE with this CAST!

It really takes me back to a time, when comics were just FUN and a bright explosion of joy in a bleak world. The promise of this cast is so GUTSY! On a purely impish, regressive little boy level, I wanna' yell, "Wonder Woman's got a GI JOE dude, a VIKING GOD with a magic sword AND a CHEETAH-MONSTER, over here! Lookit' THIS TEAM!" Any TV show or sci-fi/fantasy film series would kill for a cast, this cool--and it's in Wonder Woman?

This is so much better, than my hopes for a WW-Mala-Etta dynamic. These amazing WOMEN will love, sacrifice themselves for and half-kill each other, and rally the Wonderverse behind Diana, to save the WORLD! Out of this, we'll all know why Steve and Siggy are fighting beside them!

A theory about what (on CBR forums) we're already calling a Cloonrad era? I think one of the more appealing things the current team is doing is similar to Geoff Johns's retcon creation of Myrina. They're installing something the Wonder Woman comic's been needing: the missing, essential elements of its squandered Silver Age!

There'll be Queen Nubia and the Amazons hopping through on kangas! The new, FUN Wonder Girl, Yara Flor, will be swinging by on a Pegasus! It's simply amazing!

I think this is the classic cast we've been waiting for, kangaliers!


Edgar Miraculous (Mel) Dyer, without his fine, coyote-hatin' Goldiweiler, Kirby (now moved on to that big, coyote-hatin' hate group in the Sky) continues a somewhat bleaker, dogless existence in the Capitol Hill area of Washington, DC. He has been an active member of the Latino Culture Council of the Capitol Area (El Consejo de Cultura Latina – La Zona del Capitolio) and the Kiwanis Club of Capitol Hill.

BOYS ON THE SIDE: HOW ETTA AND MALA (NOT STEVE) MAKE WONDER WOMAN WORK

By Edgar Miraculous Dyer I've think I've been rallying fans for a Wonder Woman  comic, with the friendship betwixt the Amazing Amazon, Etta and Mala, at the center of the on-going narrative, for the better of two decades. The Wonder Woman/Steve Trevor thing [Styana?]  is a perennially stagnant narrative speed-bump, that no longer drives a story, in an entertaining way. Moving the character-center of the comic to Wonder Woman's (Diana's)  friendship, with cowgirl everywoman, Etta Candy, and another recurring female character in the comic, like Amazon compatriot, Mala,  ..while unfolding a deepening, fluctuating attraction between Diana and Steve Trevor, in a recurring subplot, ..is one way to fix that. Could it help, ending Steve and Diana's low-stakes, paperless marriage, while moving Mala into a permanently Alfredish role, in Man's World; so that there's an important character in the comic, who keeps Diana's mythical background, out front and in play...
